Latest Updates from Our Project:

Production complete! See you Essen Spiel and much more
over 4 years ago – Wed, Oct 02, 2019 at 03:31:20 AM

Welcome and a good day to fellow gamers and backers. We have quite a bit to cover in this update and some of it very exciting news. So let's get on with it.

The team has been busy getting things ready and we are happy to announce that production is now done. So we are one step closer to delivery. Most of the games will be shipped to Germany in a week’s time, but Hideouts and a few other bigger items will be shipped to the US from the CSI warehouse at the same time. PMCH, however, will still come directly from Germany, so even the US customers who will be receiving their shipment from the CSI warehouse in the US will still receive their PMCH from Germany.

Fulfilment will begin in mid-October. Only two weeks away!

Final versions will be available at Essen Spiel and Spiellde Rostock and will also be available for pre-order from the backerkit store.

If you are going to be at Essen you can find us at booth 2-B101, so please come and say ‘hi’ and play some games with us. We enjoy meeting as many of you as we can.

And thank you again for your continued support. It means a lot to us.

Remember... we are looking for the following people to help within our ever-growing team.

All-in-all, our team members need more than a pinch of self-management skills as the guidance that is given is limited in scope, but the freedom to do is ample.

If you have a local gaming centre that you would like to stock our games please speak to them, or us, and we will get one of our local reps to contact them.

As always, your support means the world to us. We love games as much as you do and we love sharing our passion with all of you around the world.

We hope our passion for gaming shines in the games we create for you all. Thank you, as always from all of our team to all of you.

PMCH backerkit closing 15th May and enters production in time
about 5 years ago – Thu, May 02, 2019 at 03:16:17 AM

Cannibal’s Howl is about to enter production and is on schedule. You can still get your copy using the pre-order feature of PMCH Backerkit and it’s available in three languages (English, German and Spanish), thanks to succesful campaigns using Spieleschmiede and Verkami. It took a bit longer than expected to integrate findings from these localized campaigns, but all of that is now done and we will close the backerkit on 15th May 2019.

Closing the backerkit does not close the pre-order store of backerkit and for those very few who have unreplied survey, contact us, please.

Cannibal’s Howl offers a very different set of scenarios, intended for lower player and hero counts, it brings the much coveted Cannibal Shaman, Mogba’gh, that was sold out some years ago back inyo availability. The latest addition to PM:CH is the shark miniatures, which are something of a mix between an enemy and an ally. Below you'll see some painted sharks (painting by Stephen Shepherd)

The Cannibal’s Howl campaign also brought back the earlier sold out Doors & Chests, Portcullis & levers and Victim miniature sets. Now better than ever - using composite resin to provide more detail and durability. These miniature sets are available from our EU webstore and the PM:CH backerkit.
We've also completed game testing on PM:CH scenarios and most scenarios have also been already translated. We're confident that you will find the new scenarios intriguing.

Our next game, Dwarf, will be set in the Zanziar, the same world as Perdition’s Mouth(although several hundred years before the events in PM). It’s a highly tactical, quick-playing worker placement game played on a dynamic board. Although it has emergent co-operative elements, at its heart it is a competitive game and the Multamäki family, as well as several players at Airecon, have commented that it can be ‘a nasty little game’ if that’s how you want to play it!

We will have the game at UKGE for demoing, but in the meantime, we have made the game available on TTS, soon Tabletopia and as an art-free version to BGG for those that like to pnp. It’s for 1-3 players, or up to five by combining two copies.
Following demo’ing at Airecon we’ve made some changes to the graphic design and also added more art. We felt it was important that the graphic design changes, in particular, were made for the preview copies and these are now being sent out to previewers. The kickstarter campaign will launch in early summer (but not on 7th May, as previously suggested, as the previewers need time with the game).

Consider joining the mailchimp mailing list for Dwarf.

The story of Perdition's Mouth will continue in Soul Spire. That will provide advanced rules with widely varying scenarios, three playable factions, all having different story path. The current aim is to have this in Kickstarter in late 2019 or early 2020, but that depends on playtesting. We would be very interested of experienced Perdition's Mouth players who would like to play test Soul Spire. If you are interested, send us an email.

You might also want to join in the mailing list of Perdition's Mouth to get the latest news. We are also sharing the art, miniature sculpts, painted miniature images and such in our Instagram.

Double update: Q1 / 2019 news flash
about 5 years ago – Fri, Mar 01, 2019 at 04:06:07 PM

Dear backers,

We don’t normally do “double updates”. Everything that’s here concerns backers of Cannibal’s Howl and the Revised Edition of Perdition’s Mouth, however, so you will see this update in your feed for both projects if you backed both.

Revised Edition News

The Revised Edition Kickstarter’s fulfilment is really close to being done and over with. There are two full pledges that remain to be fulfilled to Canada and two to the UK. All of these are waiting for Upgrade Kits (English) to reach Europe. Due to the logistics hassle we ended up having way too many English Upgrades in USA and, therefore, too few in Germany. We expect these still taking weeks, as ships sail slowly over the big pond.

The German edition of PM:RE is close nearly  sold out, which is really positive. It helped that the Cannibal’s Howl Spieleschmiede went well and is, infact, already partially fulfilled as all the materials except Cannibal’s Howl itself have been delivered to Happy Shops.

Revised Edition has gotten a lot of positive reviews, most recently from Game Nite Magazine - But we always think we could have more. If your favourite reviewer hasn’t covered PM:RE yet, you can always ask them to approach us.

The wooden inserts are now sent even in Australia. If you have received one, you really should read David’s update BEFORE doing anything else with it, to avoid mistakes.

The Cannibal will howl in Spanish, too!

The Spanish version of Cannibal’s Howl is coming! It’ll be run on the Verkami platform and you can find it here. Launch of the Verkami campaign is set for Wednesday the 6th of March 2019. It’s run by our marvellous Spanish team;

  • Veronica
  • Jose Antonio
  • Ruyman
  • Gerardo

Whom you can contact collectively via [email protected] and converse in Spanish. We’ve also made a Spanish version of DDP Facebook, we’d love to meet you there.

Cannibal schedule

We’ve completed all the art and most of the scenarios are ready and are now, basically, waiting to see how the Verkami campaign ends up. We’ll then send the files to production when the result of that campaign is known. As we said previously, we will not produce any parts of Cannibal’s Howl in China. This is more expensive but saves 5-6 weeks of transit time and an immeasurable amount of headaches. If there are real troubles, with a factory in Europe we can just take a plane and fly there to find out what is the problem.

If you missed the Cannibal’s Howl project, you can still join in using the pre-order store.

Some people have asked us when we are going to close the backerkit for PM:CH. We have done that for some, already, as we shipped the base games to those backers who diligently completed their surveys. For everyone else, it’ll be some time during March (this month). The precise date will be announced soon.

Join the team?

We’ve posted invitations before  and, practically every time, someone has been interested, so here goes…

  • We need someone with experience in social networks and marketing. It seems that our current team is too old, nerdy, inward looking or just plain weird that we have too little experience to effectively work this out. Instragram, in particular, is vastly under used and we have plenty of pretty pictures to show.
  • We’d also appreciate if anyone in USA has legal skills. We have, sadly, a case where “a distributor” stole a large shipment of our products and has failed to pay them for almost two years. Even if we wouldn’t ever get money or our products back, we should warn the community and that takes some local knowledge.

Even if you can’t help with these specific tasks but you would still like to contribute, please do contact us.

Dwarf - the next game

Played on a dynamic board and featuring emergent cooperative elements, Dwarf is a competitive worker-placement and resource management game for one to three players, or one to five by integrating two copies. It’s be demoed at AireCon 8th to 10th March!

Thematically Dwarf takes place in the same world of Zanziar, where Perdition’s Mouth resides.

Email lists

Remember to join to our mailing lists of your choice. If you have already opted to join in Backerkit, no need to do it again, we will automatically add you the lists you requested. We send mail very rarely, typically about twice a year per list.

Finally, the backerkit
over 5 years ago – Tue, Jan 29, 2019 at 12:46:03 AM

Dear backers,

It's taken more than we expected, but just some minutes ago the smoke test (5% of backers) was sent. If you're in the lucky 5% (that is random, not controlled by us) PLEASE take your time and do let us know if you find anything out of order.

We will gather feedback from the smoke test users for 48 hours and pending major problems, we will then launch the backerkit fully to all users. We will also open the pre-order system of backerkit at the same time.

We have re-used most of the shipping systems of PM:RE as those, for the most parts, did work quite well. So shipping is WEIGHT based. We'd also like to kindly remind to be sure that you'll check which warehouse is the item coming from. Not all items are in every warehouse, which means that you need to be careful on selecting meaningful choices.

Other good news!

We also got an update from our new Spanish miniature manufacturer that first half of the miniatures is ready! This would be all of the add-on miniatures, such as the doors & chests sets.

We will get to show you updated pictures soon. Exciting!

We're also going to take part of a couple of conventions this year. You'll find us in spring 2019 from at least:

  • Kemijärvi game weekend (last weekend in North Finland ;=)
  • AireCon in UK (March 8-10)
  • Brussels Game Festival in March (March 8-10)
  • UKGE in Birmingham ( 31st May - 2nd June)

After the fairly insane DDP Tour of 2018, this year we will need to take it easier this year.

Dwarf - the next board game of DDP

Due to personal circumstances of our artist, we do not have exact schedule of Dwarf, yet. We aim to have it in Kickstarter March/April 2019. We'll keep you posted.

Happy New Year - In Finnish Calendar this is the Year of Cannibal
over 5 years ago – Wed, Jan 02, 2019 at 04:23:43 PM

Hyvää uutta vuotta!

Thankyou for all your support in 2018. We’re hoping to go on to even bigger and better things in 2019 with your help.

For those of you who helped promote our Spieleschmiede campaign, in Germany, a particular thankyou. The campaign funded successfully making for a combined total of 21,700USD. That combined total is important - you may remember that we said any stretchgoals reached there would also affect those unlocked in the English version. We fell just short of unlocking the short story by Greg Stoltz. Since we like you, and we liked Greg’s short story that accompanied the Traitor’s Guard campaign, were going to go ahead and commission him anyway. We’re going to make this available in backerkit for 2USD.

Speaking of Backerkit. We’re sorry about the delay in getting this set up but if you’ve enjoyed a good holiday season then we hope you can understand why some of our team members may have also needed a bit of time with their families. We’re aiming to have this open in two weeks and we will then keep it open for eight weeks. The main games and other existing products will then ship immediately.

Of course, we haven’t only been sitting around, having fun with our families and relaxing with hot, spiced alcoholic beverages. We’ve also been working hard playtesting the new maps and scenarios, the last few weeks. We always welcome new playtesters to our team and if you’d like to help us then please do email us at [email protected]. All we ask is that you’re familiar with the game and you approach playtesting in a thorough manner, communicating with us actively.

While we’re talking about the new maps, it’s perhaps worth mentioning again how these will work. They are going to be produced on a thinner, foldable, cardstock in A3 size, so that they can be folded to A5 and sent with the rest of the Cannibal’s Howl components easily. This smaller size is one of the reasons that the scenarios are particularly suited to lower player counts (1-3 heroes) but they can, of course, also be played with more heroes if you choose to. The scenarios are linked together into a mini-campaign which introduces Mogba’gh and, so, takes place before the main campaign. Successfully completing it will give you some small benefits that you can take forward into future campaigns.

Another way in which we’d like a bit of not-too-onerous help is in spreading the word in Italy and Spain. We now have a lot of reviews of Perdition’s Mouth online but very few in these countries. If you know of any reviewers from these countries that you think would like the game then please do suggest them to us. This is particularly important because we plan to run a Spanish crowdfunding campaign for Cannibal’s Howl in the next few weeks.

So, what else will 2019 bring?

Well, our next Kickstarter campaign will be for Dwarf, in March. The game is set in Zanziar, the same world as Perdition’s Mouth. Played on a dynamic board and featuring emergent cooperative elements, Dwarf is a competitive worker-placement and resource-management game for 1-3 players (or 1-5 by combining two copies). Players take the role of dwarves, aiming to forge items and achieve renown by defending their home from marauding enemies.

The artwork for Dwarf is being done by Lars Munck, who also did some of the art for Darwinning!. We think he’s doing a fantastic job of capturing the unique world and feel of the game but you can judge for yourself, from some of the samples shown here.
